Equal access for individuals with disabilities to society.
Eligibility for services at LIFE is determined by the center. Services are provided at no cost to consumers.
Independent Living Goals
LIFE facilitates the development and achievement of independent living goals selected by individuals with disabilities who seek such assistance from our center.
Community Options
LIFE works to increase the availability and improve the quality of community options for independent living in order to facilitate the development and achievement of independent living goals by individuals with disabilities.
Advocacy
LIFE is committed to advocating for the rights of individuals by assisting consumers in obtaining needed services. In addition, we encourage consumers and staff to participate on committees that are engaged in implementation of legislation, service planning, accessibility, fair housing, transportation, ADA compliance and other issues of civil rights.
Information and Referral
LIFE offices are community based information and referral centers. Staff is knowledgeable about community agencies and service providers, and refers requests for services to appropriate resources available in the community.
Independent Living Training & Education
Independent Living Training services offer individual the opportunity to learn and practice skills needed to live independently in their community. Integration of persons with disabilities fully into community activities is a priority goal of community education opportunities.
Peer Support Services
Peer support services offer the opportunity to work with another person with a disability to explore options, make informed decisions, and achieve self-control over his/her life.
